Here are some random port pictures...

Us in the boat, on our way to what we thought was going to be snorkeling, NOT!

New News

Nope again not what you think. I love starting to tell people this... "I don't know if I should tell you yet because no one else really knows." It without fail ended with a "are you pregnant?" from people. Ha ha. Nope, not for a while.

Well I said it that way because I had only talked to the Bishop and told Tyler but now that I'm set apart...

(drum roll)...I am the new Country Park 1st ward MiaMaid and Beehive Advisor. (scream) yikes! What a surprise. I told Bishop that I hadn't even been off the radar that much. I was released from being a Nursery leader at the end of August and just barely recieved my new calling, so almost 2 months. I guess that's good. I just didn't know what I'd be called to do. They totally reorganized the YW program. Not to mention I am the youngest leader of the group, being only 6-7 years older than the Laurel's, and 10 years older than my oldest girls. Which is still quite an age gap but only a fraction than that of the other leaders and the girls.

Bishop told me that it'd be my Sunday's and Wednesday nights. At first I was like oh, but I got used to the idea. Then I went home and told Tyler and he was like, yeah and don't forget Girls Camp. And I was like oh crap-again. Then last sunday Rosalyn told me, yeah and Youth Conference. Oh man it never ends. How could I forget about all of this, when I've been the one there most recently.

The more I think about it or look over everything the more comforted I get. At first it was really scary and a lot to take in. But I've had a lot of reassurances. We'll see how this sunday goes when I teach them. At least it's not sunday school, those boys are difficult, I think just teaching girls will be tons better for me.

All I know is that there is a lot of work to be done. I barely know who these girls are. I have a lot to learn about them and what is going on in the program in the ward. I'm still a little shell shocked and we all still feel a little overwhelmed.

One Year Anniversary

Nope you aren't mistaken, we didn't get married in October, it was May. I'm just finally posting about it. I'll get pictures up here later, once I really figure that out and once the image uploads get out of maintenance.

Tyler and I went on a cruise to the Mexican Riviera in May. Looking back of course it was fun, but I still remember how sensitive my body was to the swaying motions. I kinda got used to it, but let's just say how excited I was to be back on solid ground that definately didn't move.

Our first stop was Puerta Vallarta.

We moved from the ship to a catamaran and then went another hour and a half to some Mexico National Park islands. So basically, we went from the catamaran to the water where we had about an hour or so of snorkeling. Can I just tell you how AMAZING that was. This was the best experience we had on our shore excursions. Everything we saw was beautiful. Luckily we saw tons of stuff because when we got to Cabo we heard that snorkeling was awesome there too and we had a great first experience so we decided why not. Well it wasnt' that great. The water was too rough and was kicking up the sand and so needless to say we couldn't see a dang thing. But I have to say that Cabo has the best tourist set up. Puerto Vallarta wasn't to shabby either, if you stay inside the port. :)  We got fried from our long day in the sun in Puerto Vallarta. Well not super fried but just enough for my white skin in the Mexican sun.

We didn't even get off the boat in Mazatlan.  Here is the beautiful sunset in Mazatlan...

Cabo was definately my favorite so that one will have to get a post all on it's own.
We did get some really cool souveniers though! (I'll have to post my fav.)

We did take Carnival and I have to say that it was pretty dang fun. We'd do it again but not for a while. Maybe the Caribbean. ooh... that just sounds too nice. We'll get there.

Bahaha...

I figure it's about time since it's been almost a year. I guess I really did have stuff to update. For example, I got a 25 on my previous ACT, so I did do better than a 24. Only problem is that UVU says that to better my chances I should take the ACT AGAIN to get a higher score than a 25. We will really see this time. I proved myself wrong last year, so let's do this and at least get a 26. (sigh)

I love my job! It's the best. I love everyone I work with. I've been there for about 10 months and it feels a lot longer than that. I know I'll be there until I get into Hygiene school, as much as I love it I hope I'm there for only another 10 months. We'll see how Hygiene school apps go this time around. I have my apps for Weber and UVU. Both due about Feb 1st to the 15th-ish. I applied to SLCC and since they actually have a waiting list I have a start date of 2014. Whoop-ti-do! It could shorten but hopefully I get into Weber or UVU sooner than later and then my life can get a move on. I have everything to UVU that I need except this ACT score and all I need for Weber is my 3 page essay. Yikes! We'll see how much I can really say about myself or my "life" experiences.
